Alianza and Phonism have partnered to deliver advanced device management experiences for service providers and end users.

The cloud communications platform has collaborated with Phonism, the VoIP specialist which excels in innovative Universal Device Management solutions, to empower Alianza customers with excellent deployment and configuration ease-of-use for Alianza-certified devices supported natively on its platform.

Utilising the Phonism integration optimises migrations, provisioning processes, and time to market. Phonism templates facilitate zero-touch deployments, remote bulk management, and centralised management of firmware and configuration compliance.

James L. Lee, Chief Operating Officer at Phonism, commented:

Our collaboration with Alianza marks a milestone in providing the industry with unmatched device management solutions. This integration enables adoption of cloud communications with a fraction of typical expenses where teams of knowledge workers are needed for staging, provisioning, deploying, installing, and supporting devices.”

Phonism empowers service providers to fully embrace Alianza’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) strategy, removing a significant barrier to transitioning from on-premises telephony to a contemporary, cloud-based solution.

This enables providers to migrate existing devices to Alianza’s cloud-native platform, ensuring adherence to approved firmware and configuration settings. As a consequence, this lowers the cost of transitioning to the cloud while offering a secure, managed environment for device management and compliance. BYOD eliminates the need to purchase new devices, introduce new systems, or train end-users.

“Put simply, Alianza and Phonism are revolutionizing the way voice solutions are sold and supported at scale,” added Dag Peak, Chief Product Officer at Alianza. “Phonism’s commitment to innovation and user-friendly solutions complements Alianza’s vision of delivering robust voice services from our cloud platform.”

“This partnership aims to transform the way services are delivered, making device management a seamless and efficient process for both service providers and end-users via a single, powerful platform.”

What Has Alianza Been Up To Recently?

It was a busy autumn for Alianza, which began with the company partnering with Dubber to make conversational AI technology available to over 200 communication service providers (CSPs).

Dubber integrated its AI-powered conversational intelligence solutions into the Alianza platform, providing advanced insights to its CSP customers. This integration of Dubber’s capture tools and AI-driven insights empowered Alianza to equip CSPs with cutting-edge capabilities, positioning them as leaders in the global adoption of conversational intelligence technology.

In November, Alianza raised $61 million to expand its sales team by 400 percent and innovate cloud communication solutions for service providers.

In December 2022, Alianza pledged $200 million towards research and development to propel cloud communications growth, with a portion of these new funds designated to fulfil this commitment. The funding was secured from an undisclosed syndicate of investors and strategic partners, along with debt financing from Texas Capital Bank.

At the end of November, it was announced that AWS and Alianza partnered to empower CSPs to accelerate cloud transformations.

The agreement between AWS and Alianza aimed to transform how CSPs deliver and monetize voice and cloud communication services. This initiative was driven by the ongoing global digital transformation, which has rendered legacy voice infrastructure obsolete. As a result, CSPs are faced with the challenge of determining the most effective approach to managing the next generation of voice and communication products.

What About Phonism?

Last year, Phonism began integrating third-party device management with Webex Calling, which it underlined as being the first offering of its kind on Cisco’s collaboration platform.

Through this partnership, Phonism is allowing Cisco partners and their customers to rapidly deploy Webex Calling. Organisations are now able to automate device deployments, management, security, and migrations for “hundreds” of Cisco and third-party devices, according to Phonism.

Phonism’s integration with Webex Calling empowers customers to utilise their existing devices seamlessly with Webex, simplifying migrations and eliminating the need for user retraining or forced device refresh. These efficiencies translate to significant time and cost savings, potentially reducing overall expenses. Phonism estimates that customers can save up to 95 percent for BYOD scenarios.
