Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G is now official in India. Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G is a gaming-focused smartphone and succeeds last year’s Infinix GT 10 Pro. The all-new Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G comes powered by MediaTek 8200 Ultimate 4nm chipset and is priced at Rs 24,999 onwards. The company claims it is the first smartphone in India to come with a dedicated gaming display chip in its price range.We have been using the phone for past few days and here are our first impressions
Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G: Design
The Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G features what the company calls ‘Mecha design’ which will surely catch the eyes of mobile gamers. There is a C-ring Mecha loop lighting on the back with eight colour combos and 4 lightning effects. Users can customize the lighting to show notifications for incoming calls, messages, music and gaming of course. The rear of the device has a Mecha texture that makes it comfortable to hold. Although, we must add here that the device is a bit heavy, weighing around 194 grams.
There is a square shaped camera module which houses the rear camera. The volume control button is placed on the right side. Infinix GT 20 Pro is offered in three colour variants- Mecha Orange, Mecha Silver and Mecha Blue. We received the Mecha Silver as our review unit which looked pretty good.

The smartphone features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen and has a dedicated gaming display chip. Gamers would agree how important it is for a gaming phone to have a good display with amplified touch and refresh rate. Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G surely delivers on that front and impresses you at the very instance you start to scroll through it. The display is bright, vivid and vibrant delivering an immersive gaming experience. Gaming becomes even smoother thanks to its 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The device comes with low latency MEMC technology to further elevate gaming performance. Another noteworthy feature is the thin bezels on the screen that gives a screen-to-body ratio of 94.3%.
Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G: Hardware and Software
Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate octa-core processor with Mali G610 MC6 GPU. The chipset is crafted with 4nm process technology. Although we are yet to do a thorough testing of the phone’s performance, but, our initial experience with the device is pretty good. The company claims that the smartphone comes with up to 90GPS gaming and has a X Boost gaming mode. We will comment on these features in our detailed review.

Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G UI

In terms of operating system, the device runs on the company’s own XOS14 based on Android 14. The UI is fairly neat and you have the option to uninstall some of the pre-installed apps. Infinix promises two years of Android updates and three years of security updates for Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery and comes with a 45W charger. The handset has a hyper charge mode and also features Bypass charging that allows the current to bypass the phone’s battery and supply power directly to the main board. Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G: Camera
For camera duties, Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G features a 108MP camera on the back. The main sensor is paired with 2MP macro and 2MP sensor. During our initial inspection, we found the camera performance to be satisfactory. The front of the device is home to a 32MP camera which is great for taking social-media worthy selfies. What we think
Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G comes with a starting price of Rs 24,999. The handset packs up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. At this price point, the phone packs a long list of impressive features. If you are looking for a gaming phone under budget, Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G could be a good choice that may impress in ways you may not have expected.
