When I founded iONLINE ISP Ltd 18 years ago, the tech landscape was a far cry from what it is today. Back then, BlackBerry was the hottest mobile device, MySpace was huge, and YouTube had only just entered the scene. If you needed to pay for something, you reached for cash, wrote a cheque, or swiped your bank card.

The idea of paying with a tap of your phone, watch, or ring was something out of a sci-fi flick. There was no Uber for ridesharing, and as for iPhones – what iPhones?

Conducting global business meant enduring the frustration of a slow internet connection – in some cases even dial-up – making costly international calls, sharing large data files on clunky physical storage media like CDs and DVDs, and don’t get me started on the mountain of paperwork involved in everything cross-border.

Fast forward to today, and we’re running our work and personal lives through a dizzying array of apps and devices. We do things at breakneck speed, and our expectations are high – especially when it comes to connected tech.

The spark of innovation

The idea for FlexiSIM™, a revolutionary SIM card that provides secure global connectivity, was born out of a series of conversations I had with fellow business owners who were frustrated by the limitations of available solutions. They were fed up with the lack of options to adequately address their business challenges and support their use cases, let alone to scale their global operations.

At the time, we offered a Vodafone roaming product called GDSP, (global data SIM platform) and while it had its advantages (only because it was called global), its pricing structure and capabilities fell short of what our customers needed, and scale was almost impossible.

Unable to find a product that ticked all the boxes, we set about creating our own SIM solution, and FlexiSIM was born. After extensive research, development and best practice partnerships from around the world, and a gruelling 36 months of hard work, we introduced FlexiSIM in our home market of South Africa.

FlexiSIM is now also available in the UK, Europe, the Czech Republic, Australia, Indonesia, Canada, and the USA, to name a few.

Quad-network resilience

In the UK, FlexiSIM offers 5G quad-network resilience across EE, Vodafone, and 02, with Three coming soon. This ensures constant connectivity – even in areas with weak coverage.

Unreliable and intermittent connectivity can spell disaster for businesses, causing frustration and inconvenience, missed opportunities, unhappy customers, and lost revenue.

For businesses reliant on mobile networks for device connections, or those with a need for continuous connectivity across the UK and beyond, FlexiSIM is a convenient and cost-effective solution.

Smart savings and scalability

In today’s post-pandemic world, businesses are tightening their belts and none of us can afford to be frivolous with our spending. With FlexiSIM, you only pay for the data you use, nothing more, and you can control this at a granular level, overseeing all aspects through our intuitive CentralFlex data management platform.

CentralFlex allows you to collect and analyse various data points and metrics in real-time, enabling faster decision-making and helping to keep your business agile. The days of relying on slow and unresponsive mobile network operators to monitor your connections, data usage and costs are a thing of the past.

If growth, scale and optimisation are on your business gameplan, FlexiSIM will make this much more achievable. Built to accommodate enterprises of any size, it provides connectivity that easily keeps pace with growth. A scalable IoT platform allows organisations to efficiently manage extensive IoT deployments, adapting to changes with ease while maintaining performance and reliability.

Privacy and security first

Businesses operating in today’s interconnected world grapple with concerns like privacy, security and compliance, not to mention the ever-looming threat of data leaks, breaches or cyberattacks.

We made security a top priority when developing FlexiSIM, and our solution is built on a fully private and secure network, with dedicated routing and private IPs delivered directly to your network, anywhere in the world. When you do business with us, you can be confident that your data, devices and network are fully safe and secure.

What your business needs right now

FlexiSIM is a game-changer for enterprises that demand uninterrupted connectivity. Unstable connectivity can be the deciding factor between a flourishing business and a failing one. Picture your team on the cusp of launching a groundbreaking product or solution, or ready to deploy a new technology that has the potential to save lives.

All the effort, passion and dedication invested in that moment can be lost in an instant due to a dropped connection or bad coverage and high latency. The frustration that something like that will cause is extraordinary. Now, consider the impact of uninterrupted, fully secure global connectivity on your business, combined with the flexibility to scale effortlessly and manage every SIM in real time. Think about the possibilities. They are endless.
