Zoom and Lumen have partnered to deliver enhanced VoIP experiences for businesses.

Zoom and Lumen have combined the latter’s dependable network infrastructure and phone services with Zoom’s capability-rich cloud phone system. The partnership expansion builds a simple and secure approach for businesses to collaborate anywhere and anytime.

Craig Richter, Senior Director of UC&C Product Management at Lumen, commented:

This collaboration leans on the key strengths of both companies, so it represents the best of both worlds. We provide the underlying infrastructure, connectivity, and service reliability, and Zoom brings its cloud calling capabilities and the modern Zoom platform functionality. By staying true to our collaborative roots, our teams came together with a ‘better together’ mindset that ultimately enhances value for joint customers.”

The agreement entails Lumen providing Enhanced Local Service (ELS), Wholesale Long Distance (LD) and Wholesale Toll Free (TF) services to Zoom. This enables Zoom to offer Lumen Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connectivity with its cloud Zoom Phone solution.

“We are excited to build upon the current relationship we have with Lumen,” added Mark Jenkins, Head of Strategic Alliances at Zoom, “and we look forward to working together to deliver seamless products to our customers.”

What is the Solution’s Feature Set?

One of the key customer benefits of the invigorated Lumen and Zoom partnership is reliability.

Lumen’s IP backbone and network architecture offer high availability and low downtime so that customers can feel secure in the reliability of their Lumen Solutions for Zoom service.

The solution offers simplified integration, ensuring customers know everything is securely embedded into the Zoom cloud solution. Lumen’s significant voice footprint in North America allows businesses to communicate wherever and whenever they want.

Another benefit is cost efficiency, as Lumen’s fibre network and IP infrastructure minimise carrier and connectivity costs. This allows those savings to be passed on in competitively priced solutions. Lastly, Lumen offers 24/7 customer support for customers with questions or problems.

Zoom Launches ISV Exchange Programme

Zoom announced its internet software vendor (ISV) programme this week, which includes notable partners such as Theta Lake and Verint.

The programme expands upon Zoom Partner Connect and will enable Zoom to resell choice ISV solutions directly to customers. The video conferencing and collaboration giant can address more customer demands and simplify the purchasing process with a unified, all-inclusive experience by embedding partner services within the Zoom platform.

“By offering select solutions directly from our ISV partners, we are able to meet more needs of our customers while simplifying their purchasing process,” said Chris Moss, Head of Platform and Product Acceleration at Zoom. “This is only the beginning, and I look forward to expanding this program with the help of our ISV partner ecosystem.”

What Was Announced at Zoomtopia This Month?

There was a range of news at October’s Zoomtopia 2023.
